Job Requirements

ProMedica Toledo Hospital is one of the largest acute-care facilities in the region. Our 794-bed hospital is staffed by more than 4,800 professional healthcare employees who serve a 27-county area throughout northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan. We also have the area’s largest board-certified medical staff, which is made up of more than 1,000 primary care and specialty physicians. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work in a fast paced environment are a must. In addition, for 15 consecutive years, residents of Greater Toledo have named us the Consumer Choice Award winner in our market. In fact, we’re the only hospital in northwest Ohio to receive this honor. 

The Air Operations Manager functions as an expert in the field of air and ground medical transportation.  The Air Operations Manger coordinates the operations to include clinical components with the PTN educators support. Assumes twenty-four (24) hour responsibility including budget and coordination of quality care of patients.   Manages staff related to the delivery of patient care within a multi-tiered transportation network.  Assists the Medical Director with the administration of transport services in collaboration with the Ground Operations Manager, specialists, medical teams, and ancillary departments to ensure comprehensive care to all levels of patients spanning the age continuum, including critical care and out-of-hospital.  Manages department educators and education program.

Education: BSN

Skills:  Knowledge in Air and Ground transportation: competent to expert skill level. Communicates in an effective, caring, and professional manner with all members of the multidisciplinary team. Reflects the mission and values of ProMedica Health System. Knowledge in EMS radio communication, air safety requirements, CAMTS accreditation requirements, and quality metrics.

Years of Experience: Minimum of four (4) years of progressive clinical experience in a critical care setting or emergency environment.

License: Must be licensed to practice professional nursing in the State of Ohio and State of Michigan, Must have EMT-Paramedic license or attain with twenty four (24) months of hire date

Certification: Must have and maintain BLS, PALS, ACLS, NRP, PEPP, TNCC, and ITLS.
