Monitoring Engineer - ITS Technology - Hybrid
Contribute to and participate in care, feeding, fine-tuning, and growth of enterprise monitoring solutions, enterprise notification software, and disaster recovery management processes. Provide mentorship and leadership for junior engineers on the team. Manage small projects as assigned by the supervisor.
Primary Duties:
- Works with internal teams to determine and implement monitoring/notification needs
- Assists with day-to-day administration/upkeep of applications owned by Mission Control Center (MCC)
- Analyzes and improves current monitoring solutions as new solutions are discovered
- Responds to and resolves assigned incidents/problems in a timely manner
- Assist with management of disaster recovery documentation/communication
- Takes part in on call rotation for 24/7 P1 coverage
- Other duties as assigned
Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience, and at least 4 additional years healthcare information technology experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of PowerShell, XML, SNMP, JavaScript
- Progressive experience in system analysis, design and support with knowledge of various network, communication and system platforms
- Understanding of ITIL best practices
- Previous experience as application/enterprise monitoring administrator preferred
- Project leadership skills desirable
- Task management and problem solving skills expected
- Must have strong communication skills
- Must be able to understand directions, communicate and respond to inquiries; requires effective self-motivation and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to input and retrieve information from computer
- Must maintain knowledge of current information technology and healthcare trends
- Attends regular customer and team department meetings as scheduled
