Description

I - Contributes to and participates in selection/design, implementation, maintenance and support of information technology, equipment, and processes used by PHS employees and customers

II - Responsible for independent facilitation of selection/design, implementation, maintenance and support of information technology, equipment, and processes used by PHS employees and customers. Serve as mentor to less experienced IT staff, providing assistance when required and reviewing their work as directed.

III - Leads selection/design, implementation, maintenance and support of information technology, equipment, and processes used by PHS employees and customers. Serve as mentor to less experienced IT staff, providing assistance when required and reviewing their work as directed.

1.  Evaluates, recommends and selects / designs, cost effective technology solutions in support of customer and business requirements. Partners with internal and external customers and vendors to determine information technology needs.

2.  Configure, upgrade and install/release information technology and/or application solutions.

3.  Ensures adequate testing, quality assurance and documentation of changes.

4.  Transfers knowledge and/or trains IT employees and end-users in the operation of their information systems. Maintains complete and current documentation for responsible systems and IT processes.

5.  Continually analyzes and actively recommends improvements to existing technology, equipment, and related processes, to maximize performance, capacity and availability.

6.  Maintains and monitors assigned IT systems/processes.

7.  Provides technical and related operational support and expertise to customers.

8.  Monitors, responds to and resolves customer support calls, incidents and problems.

9.  Acts as a customer advocate, promotes customer satisfaction and adheres to PHS standards of policies, including regulatory and compliance requirements.

10.  Communicates with customers, administration and team members with regard to information technology and services.

11.  Provides support for on-site and off hour availability on 7/24 hour basis as defined by the needs of the customer and/or technology.

12.  Coordinates the efforts and efficient operations of all components for any assigned task or project.

13.  Performs other duties as assigned.


I – Requires an associate degree or equivalent experience in information technology, business or related field.

II – Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in information technology, business or related field.

III – Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and at least 4 additional years healthcare information technology experience.

I - Knowledge of computer software and hardware required.

II & III – Progressive knowledge and experience in computer software and hardware required. </span>

I - Task management and problem solving skills expected.

II & III - Task management and problem solving skills required. </span>

II - Project leadership experience desired.

III - Project leadership experience required.

Must have strong communication skills.

Knowledge of health care operations is preferred.

SQL experience to query, interpret data and create scripts as well as foundational knowledge of core application technologies (desktop, network, server, database, cloud and interfaces) required.

OnBase SysAdmin Certification (OCSA) preferred.

Interface (HL7) knowledge, experience, message interpretation/manipulation preferred.

Knowledge of Epic Functionality/ROI/Web Blob Passthrough preferred.

Citrix Server Environment knowledge preferred.
