Registered Echo Tech - Cardio Pulmonary Lab - Full Time - Days

Position Summary
Under the direction of the Manager of the Cardio-Pulmonary Department, performs sonogram procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative. Assumes responsibility for designated work areas as required.
- Completion of formal ultrasound technology program in an AMA approved school and meets the requirements for registry by the American Registry of diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
- Current certification by the A.R.D.M.S. preferred.
- Must maintain continuing education to possess required CEU’s.
- Associates degree in related health field desirable.
- Possess thorough knowledge of human anatomy.
- CPR certified.
- ACLS certified or become certified in 6-12 months.
- Ability to pass competencies of the position according to the job description, evaluation and departmental policies.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Lengthy periods of standing and/or walking required.
- Lengthy periods of repetitive hand, arm, shoulder movements.
- Ability to lift and transfer patients and equipment in performing the duties of the position is essential.

- Must be reliable and responsible.
- Must be neat and clean in appearance.
- Must be able to keep confidential information and maintain a high standard of medical ethics at all times.
- Must be able to communicate with patients, co-workers, and physicians effectively,
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
- Works within a structurally sound Hospital which is fully heated and partially air-conditioned.
- Works directly with sick and/or injured patients who may be infected with communicable diseases.
