Description

The Charles and Virginia Hickman Hospital will give our community its first-ever wellness destination. Our families and friends will have improved access to nutrition education, exercise resources and state-of-the-art care like they never have before. We offer over 200,000 square feet and has 58 acute cate beds in our new state-of-the-art regional hospital.  Our campus also features an organic farm with access to nutrition, education and therapies.  We will serve as a community hub that touches residents of all ages and promotes a higher quality of life. This is a new model of collaboration between ProMedica and the community. We are excited to set a new standard for health and wellness in Lenawee County.

 

POSITION SUMMARY

Performs clerical duties within the Cardiology and Echovascular departments and works collaboratively with service providers throughout ProMedica to serve adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, clients, and families. Provides clerical support to the Respiratory Therapy and Pulmonary Rehab departments as needed. 

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES 

1.  Schedules diagnostic testing, coordinating the availability of the patient, staff and physician.  Performs receptionist/secretarial functions of answering telephones and greeting customers, typing, filing, and processing of test reports within established format and time frame.
2.  Registers and/or pre-registers patients for testing. Verifies insurance coverage for patients as appropriate.
3.  Ensures that all patient charges are entered in a timely manner and reviews charges on a regular basis.  
4.  Compiles statistical information for monthly, quarterly and annual reports and surveys as assigned.
5.  Orders supplies and maintains inventory and par-levels assigned. Actively participates in orienting new clerical staff and contributes to the growth of others.

6.  Collaborates with all members of the health care team and physician offices to promote a seamless patient care continuum. Follows proper chain of command when issues/problems arise and demonstrates appropriate follow-through
7.  Performs all duties within job scope in accordance with standards or care, policies & procedures, and regulatory guidelines.  <br /> 8.  Performs other duties as assigned
 

 


  • Education: High School Graduate
  • Skills: Ability to deal effectively with a changing environment and be open to new ideas. Ability to type 50 words per minute, and utilize a word processor. Ability to operate phone system. Possesses a pleasing voice and pleasant public personality.
